About Me

Hi, I'm Simon.

Throughout my career, I've worked with individuals, teams, businesses, and organisations to help them navigate change, solve problems, improve performance, and realise their potential.

My career has taken me through technology, business transformation, service improvement, coaching, training, publishing, and entrepreneurship. I've worked with start-ups, solopreneurs, business owners, leadership teams, public sector organisations, and corporate stakeholders.

While those experiences may appear very different, they've all been connected by a common theme.

I've always been fascinated by how things work, why they break, how they can be improved, how people, teams, and organisations can work better, and how learning can help unlock future possibilities.

Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to work across a wide range of disciplines, sectors, and roles. Rather than following a single path, I've spent my career exploring how technology, business, people, systems, learning, and change intersect.

That breadth of experience allows me to draw connections that others might miss and bring together ideas, tools, and approaches from different worlds to solve practical problems.

Whether I'm helping a founder design a business, facilitating a workshop, developing a framework, writing a book, supporting organisational change, or challenging assumptions around a boardroom table, I'm usually doing the same thing:

Helping people gain clarity, make the right decisions, and move closer to their potential.

Everything else on this page is really just different chapters of that story.

My Background

I began my career in technology, building websites and digital solutions for businesses. Over time, my focus expanded beyond technology itself and towards the people, processes, and systems that sit behind it.

That journey led me into business analysis, service design, organisational improvement, coaching, leadership development, and entrepreneurship.

Along the way, I noticed something interesting.

The same challenges appeared everywhere.

Businesses struggled because they lacked clarity.

Teams struggled because they lacked alignment.

Founders struggled because they became trapped inside businesses that depended entirely upon them.

Organisations struggled because complexity had obscured what really mattered.

Most problems weren't caused by a lack of effort or capability. They were caused by confusion, competing priorities, poor communication, unclear outcomes, and systems that no longer served their purpose.

Understanding these patterns became the foundation of my work.

Today, whether I'm writing, coaching, consulting, facilitating, or developing frameworks, my focus remains the same:

Helping people understand what matters most and creating practical ways to move forward.

What I'm Passionate About

Outcomes First

I believe outcomes matter. Without a clear understanding of what we're trying to achieve, it's entirely possible to work hard, stay busy, and even be successful at achieving the wrong things. Whether I'm working with an individual, a team, or an organisation, I believe clarity about the destination should come before discussions about plans, solutions, systems, or tools.

The right outcome creates focus, alignment, and better decisions.

Unlocking Potential

I believe every individual and every organisation has untapped potential. Sometimes the barrier is a lack of clarity. Sometimes it's confidence. Sometimes it's complexity, competing priorities, outdated assumptions, or poorly designed systems.

I enjoy helping people uncover what is possible and creating practical pathways to help them get there.

Making Complexity Simple

Many of the problems we face are not difficult because they are inherently complicated. They become difficult because they become cluttered. I enjoy finding the signal amongst the noise, identifying what matters most, and helping others see challenges more clearly.

Often the greatest breakthroughs come not from adding more, but from removing what isn't needed.

Turning Knowledge Into Assets

Knowledge has little value if it remains trapped inside someone's head. I'm passionate about helping people capture experience, expertise, ideas, and insights in ways that can be shared, repeated, scaled, and improved over time.

Whether through books, frameworks, systems, training programmes, or intellectual property, I believe valuable knowledge deserves to outlive the moment it was created.

How I Work

Partnership Before Prescription

I don't believe the best answers always come from the consultant, coach, or facilitator. The people closest to the challenge often hold much of the knowledge needed to solve it. My role is to help uncover that knowledge, challenge assumptions, create clarity, and bring structure to the conversation.

Frameworks Create Better Conversations

Over the years, I've developed and adopted a range of frameworks, tools, and models that help individuals and organisations think differently about challenges and opportunities. These frameworks allow me to work effectively across a wide range of sectors, industries, and disciplines.

I don't need to be the domain expert. Instead, I bring processes, structure, questions, and thinking tools that help subject matter experts unlock better answers for themselves. The result is a collaborative partnership that combines their expertise with proven methods for thinking, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Outcomes Drive Everything

Before discussing solutions, I want to understand what success looks like. The clearer the outcome, the easier it becomes to make the right decisions. When people are clear about where they want to go, priorities become clearer, distractions become easier to identify, and progress becomes easier to measure.

Simplify, Systemise, Then Build

My instinct is rarely to add complexity.

I prefer to strip things back to first principles, understand what really matters, and then build practical solutions that are proportionate to the challenge. Simple doesn't mean simplistic. It means creating clarity before adding sophistication.

Enable, Not Depend

My goal is not to create dependency. It's to leave people with greater clarity, capability, confidence, and ownership than they had before we started working together. Success isn't measured by how much people need me. Success is measured by what they're able to achieve without me.

Who I Work With

Founders and Solopreneurs

I help founders build businesses that align with their goals, strengths, values, and desired lifestyle. From business design and strategic thinking to systems, frameworks, and intellectual property, my focus is on helping founders create businesses that support their lives rather than consume them.

Business Owners and Leadership Teams

I work with business owners, managers, and leadership teams to improve clarity, decision-making, strategy, systems, performance, and organisational effectiveness. Whether the challenge is growth, change, alignment, or complexity, the objective remains the same: creating better outcomes.

Organisations and Public Sector Teams

I help organisations understand problems, improve services, simplify processes, evaluate opportunities, and make more informed decisions. Drawing on experience in digital transformation, business analysis, service design, and organisational improvement, I support teams in turning complexity into clarity.

What I Do

Author

I write books, articles, newsletters, and resources focused on entrepreneurship, leadership, business growth, systems thinking, and personal development.

Framework Creator

I develop practical frameworks, models, and tools that help people turn ideas into action and knowledge into results.

Coach and Facilitator

I help individuals and groups think more clearly, solve meaningful problems, and make progress towards the outcomes that matter most.

Consultant

I support organisations in improving systems, services, decision-making, and performance through structured analysis, facilitation, and strategic thinking.

Why My Work Exists

I believe that every individual and every organisation has the right to identify and reach their true potential.

Throughout my career, whether working in technology, transformation, coaching, leadership development, publishing, or business growth, that belief has remained constant.

Everything I create is designed to help people think more clearly, make better decisions, overcome obstacles, and move closer to the outcomes that matter most.

My role is not to provide all the answers. My role is to enable others to discover them, create a path forward, and unlock the potential that already exists within themselves, their teams, and their organisations.

That's why I write. That's why I build frameworks. That's why I coach, facilitate, consult, and create.

Because when people gain clarity about where they want to go and how to get there, extraordinary things become possible.
